And in response to MD posting, I never rely on information provided on TV alone, but it doesn’t take a scientist to put 2 & 2 together. As I stated, this female, her mother, and her sick new husband (Matt) told these multiple versions of what occurred the night of Joel’s murder to law enforcement, and each officer testified to what story they were told in a court of law. If you are stating the truth regarding what happen, then why tell so many different versions. It’s because they are liars. Each would tell a different story, every time they realized investigators had caught them in a lie. It turns my stomach every time I think about what they cheated Joel out of; a happy productive life with his family. He deserved to live.
Haven’t read the court transcripts but a mountain of circumstantial evidence is enough to convict these two people! The absence of the smoking gun is sometimes done away with when all leads point to one direction,in this case, matt and jennifer!
Beyond reasonable doubt is the focal point of debate in this case but I tend to sway that it was indeed, resolved towards conviction. Rest in peace Joel and to his friends, may you now have peace of mind that you’ve seen justice has been served,and served well!!! Their appeals? Trash ’em!

Just watched this story on ID. How tragic. My heart goes out to you, Jacob. Losing your very hard working dad to greedy people who had no thought for you, a child, is beyond words.
I am happy to read your owns words about the good life you have. Who raised you? Are you still in SoCal? We just moved away from that area to NC last year.
All three kids are doing great. Jacob is a junior in High School. He got his drivers license and his own car this year. He’s playing tennis and goes to two church youth groups a week. He is getting ready to be baptized in a few weeks. He’s a good kid, and were very proud of him and the choices he makes. He looks a lot like Joel. Savannah and Emma (10 @ 8) both play sports, both play the piano, and both get excellent grades. They are aware of where there birth parents are, and we answer their questions as age appropriate as we can.
They have a good life here.
@TJ, it isn’t slander. It’s a matter of court record. She was convicted. Slander is a false statement designed to cause harm to a person’s reputation. Nothing false here. The detective work and the jury has spoken. That woman is a murderer, plain and simple. May she rot in jail until she dies.
