Fire officials say a deck collapsed during a house party in suburban Atlanta, Ga., and about a dozen people were injured, including several people who were burned by a grill.
The other injuries were described as mostly cuts and bruises. DeKalb County fire Capt. Eric Jackson tells WGCL-TV poor construction could have led to the collapse Saturday night at a house in Stone Mountain.
Witnesses say people were grilling on the deck. Althea Brewster told the television station that they were celebrating her sister’s birthday. She says speakers fell on her husband’s head when the deck collapsed.
