Two Sumrall men have been arrested for allegedly setting several woods fires in Lamar County during December.
Lamar County Sheriff Danny Rigel tells The Hattiesburg American that 29-year-old Brandon Grantham and 34-year-old Marcus Adrian Barnett were arrested last week after an investigation by sheriff’s office arson investigators and investigators from the Mississippi Forestry Commission.
Grantham is charged with six counts of woods arson, while Barnett is charged with two counts.
Rigel says the charges stem from several fires set on hunting leases between Purvis and the Bellevue area.
It was not immediately known whether the men have attorneys.
