Jackson County Coroner Vicki Broadus said a contract worker from Louisiana died over the weekend night following a scaffolding accident at a V.T. Halter Marine, Inc., project site.
Broadus said that 23-year-old Andrew L. Magee died as a result of injuries he suffered after apparently falling about 60 feet from some scaffolding at the worksite.
She says Magee was taken to Singing River Hospital shortly after the accident and was pronounced dead at the hospital Staurday evening. She said Magee died of multiple blunt force injuries, which were secondary to the fall.
No other details about the accident were immediately available.
