Wow; I’m sure glad I don’t work in insurance. Apparently, you are “my glass is empty; some liberal stole my water” kind of folks. You read an excerpt of an event where a young man is irreparably harmed and the first thing you can think of is that it must be his fault? He must have lied? And then the next thing is that this is somehow a political platform?
Wow; how sad. You don’t deserve hope or change. You deserve what you believe.
I wouldnt get too excited about it. None of us did. We had scant information and made a few guesses, not unheard of in most professions. We work in a realm that analyzes large numbers – insurance principles include considerating the ‘law of large numbers’. I know when I was sixteen my parents didnt always know the complete truth about my activities associated with explosives. Once again, the absence of adequate information did nothing to offset the possibility of a
few mistaken assumptions. Not a big deal.
This after all is a site about the business of insurance. Some of the posters get carried away, but it’s only about business. If you are offended by people discussing how laws, claims and other business factors affect our business, go elsewhere. Although we have sympathy for people who are harmed, this site is not about sympathy, it’s about business. It’s not the Oprah or Dr. Phil Web site.
common sense than the public at large, and certainly more than almost all journalists. Given that premise, if it doesnt pass the smell test with our industry there is probably more to the story. Either there are explanations to the questions raised here that have been omitted, or the story isn’t quite right.
Undoubtably the facts will emerge. I am 100% certain that law enforcement, along with the skeptics herein, are taking a closer look at that story. If you are willing to take it as is, ‘not like you’, then go ahead. Two bucks says within a week it will change dramatically. Just out of curiosity, any cynics in your industry ‘not like you’?
I saw the link and now know that Jacob was indeed a victim. All IJ needed to add to the scant information already provided was that a suspect was placed at the scene and arrested. I guess that was too much effort for IJ.

Was that supposed to be irony? No one outside of Brady Bunch re-runs could possible be that optimistic.
A taxpayer voting for Barrack Hussein Obama is like a chicken voting for Colonel Sanders.
I know Lauren, it amazes me too. I don’t know when I have encountered a more judgemental group…very little if any compassion.

Hey Liberal, if you not in insurance then quit posting comments on an insurance specific site.
I suppose your going to start telling me to believe that global warming is something to be concerned about as well?

It amazes how so many posts are judgemental of any type of victim. See a more complete story at http://www.scnow.com/scp/news/local/grand_strand/article/fund_set_up_for_delivery_boy_severely_burned_by_fireworks/10917/
