No Stat Jerk, I cant live with it. Maybe you should spend some time in prison? Watching your cable TV and what not. Just because Im fat and ugly and always angry doesnt mean that I want revenge on people. I may not have gone to some fancy liberal college, but ive got a GED, and I know one thing, certain people derserve to be tortured to death.
I read your comments with interest. You are correct in that human nature is what it is-I don’t think that people really change, just the circumstances they find themselves and how they react-in short the choices they make. The 10 Commandments are just as valid today as when God gave them to Moses if for no other reason that they are an easy and timeless means of governing your life here on earth.
I think that too, we need to understand why prisons are a part of our lives here. They are not meant for rehabilitation or even punishment, but rather beginning from when we developed into groups and formed societies they were the means by which our societies cast out people whose actions hurt others in that society.
The use of the death penalty is really the ultimate casting out by a society of one of its members.
I think that there are times when it is our moral imperative to use the death penalty. There is no moral blemish by doing it so that others are safe from harm
I didn’t notice your reply until I already put my foot in my mouth; that’s the one thing bad about using a nom de plume….please accept my apology and hopefully my blast will be redirected to the idiot who hides by using your name…Have a Happy and Prosperous New Year and thanks for taking the time to let me know.
Whoever is doing this better realize that I am going to ask Insurance Journal to have them identify you; I know you have have a real email address so be ready for having your posts blocked. this was a serious conversation about real issues and you make a mockery of us all….
I took this to be a valid and serious discussion about human values but someone was trying to make trouble by stirring things up for no good end. thank you Walter for adding your good points. I think you summed it up perfectly about the WHY of prisons and punishment; I only hope that this discussion will be kept alive and that society keeps trying to find a good way to deal with humanity’s dark side. have a Happy New Year.

Dawn, these killers will just reincarnate anyway. Except then they will be free.
I am no more convinced of your position than you are of mine. I can live with that if you can…

I did not post the comment back to you. I’m assuming that someone who is truly aware of their ignorance is trying to hide it.
I understand your position. That’s one of the few true freedoms we have left. Our opinion. It’s been an interesting conversation.
Have a good new year.
Dawn, you are an uneducated idiot anyway and I could care a less about your opinion on anything. Maybe you should be the one who burns.
