    AMEN, LL!!!

But people like Kathy don\’t care that you HAVE to pay an additional $100 on you policy to cover them. These assesments are nothing more than welfare for Citizens policyholders.

With this new law, the assesments for Citizens will also apply to auto policies. That\’s nice my auto premium will help pay Kathy\’s homeowner\’s claim…

Who are YOU calling selfish and a parasite…Citizens was created because the Greedy, Billionaire insurance companies refused to write policies in Florida. There would have NEVER been a need for Citizens Insurance if your industry weren’t so corrupt and driven by greed. It seems to me that you forgot how insurance is supposed to work and that is by \”spreading\” the risk. And Boo Hoo Hoo if you are paying a mere $100 on your policy to help others….GOD FORBID SOMEONE IN THE INSURANCE BUSINESS WOULD WANT TO HELP OTHERS! Besides with all the HUGE bonuses you make off the backs of hard working and retired Floridians, you should easily be able to afford the extra $100 so quit whining your true colors are bleeding through!

As I told the last ignorant poster….Citizens was only created because your industry refused to write policies in Florida and the fact that insurance is about spreading the risk. A fact that the greedy industry has forgoten about. Bummer your auto \”may\” increase by $100 but since you \”big guys\” in the insurance industry are making so much money you can fork out an extra hundred bucks to help others….I realize that it\’s hard for you to possibly think about others but try it….it\’s not so bad.

And when you open your own business Kathy, I expect you to let me pay whatever I want for your merchandise. And every other person who posted on here will pay what they want to. If we want to buy your widget for $1 and you\’re selling it for $5 we will only give you $1 and you will like it. It doesn\’t matter if it costs you $2 to manufacture your widget. You can just charge yourself for the difference. And charge your friends and family as well.

P.S. My homeowners insurance is half as much as yours. Where in Florida do YOU live?

\”Citizens was only created because your industry refused to write policies in Florida and the fact that insurance is about spreading the risk.\”

When did you try to obtain a policy? Month and year please.

P.S. I am a little low on cash this month- how about you give me $100 so I can pay my electric bill?

Kathy I am a school teacher in Okee., I cannot believe you would be so ignorant and hateful towards insurance companies. These companies paid billions and tens of thousands of people like myself were helped. Nobody seems to remember these people it\’s the small percentage of people that had a problem with their claim. I am now being forced to help underwrite your home. YOU are selfish and we need to what\’s best for everyone. As a history teacher study what happens when too much govt. is involved. Why don\’t you take the time to study the facts and stop talking out of the side of your mouth.

Hey stupid, hard working and retired Floridians also have to pay the assesments on their policies, so the ones hurt by Citizens ARE the \”hard working and retired Floridians\”.

Why should an automobile policyholder subsidize your homeowners insurance premium? Why do you think you\’re entitled to pass a portion of the cost of insuring your home onto someone else? What makes you qualified to judge the pricing of a coverage that is a pure money loser for the industry?

Kathy and her legions are prone to distrust a business whose math they don\’t pretend or want to understand. They look for easily quoted math bites that support their outrage and frustration, irrespective of whether they bear any relationship to Florida homeowners insurance. They have no issue with an industry not profiting one cent from Florida homeowners insurance as long as the price meets their budget. There\’s no balance in this viewpoint, only the manic mentality of someone whose cost of living is running ahead of their resources. Of course this is a crime for which someone must pay, right? What Kathy fails to grasp is that this restitution will fall upon her and other Floridians. No matter, however, as Citizens has come to the rescue – for now, at least. This is as long a view as she cares to have. Don\’t try to educate her, as underpriced premiums talk and logic walks. Good luck, Kathy – I hope one day you can afford quality insurance. Who knows, maybe this time Citizens will remain solvent. We\’ll check back in October.

    Hey Bill-

If Kathy says it\’s too much, it\’s too much. Back off of her.

OK, I\’m just kidding. :) She has no clue what she is talking about. She is just whining about her situation. Seriously, just because I have more money than her is no reason for me to have to give her a dime if I don\’t want to. Why is it when people don\’t have they get mad at people who do? (I am not saying I am a millionaire that can spend spend spend without worry).

I don\’t know what price is fair for me to pay, but I know I can go to an independent agent and they will help me get the best price for the right coverage. (Oh wait, aren\’t they all crooked too Kathy?)

I know I\’d rather pay what I am paying (which honestly isn\’t much, in my opinion) than pay hundreds of thousands of dollars when my home and its contents are ruined. When you look at the big picture it is a small price to pay.

But consider this point. Do people really like to pay for something when they feel they aren\’t getting anything out of it? I mean, I have been paying homeowners insurance for 5 years now and have never had a claim. What a waste of money! (tongue in cheek comment ;) Obviously, I would much rather my home be destroyed so I can get paid and then I will feel I have gotten my money\’s worth. Even if I do lose my precious belongings and have to live out of a suitcase in a hotel. Sounds like a great idea to me!
