Hey 1%….if you want to bash State Farm so bad how about reading the lastest posting regarding Katrina lawsuits. I could take your stance and say Allstate is a bunch of idiots, how could they pay the neighbor\’s claim and not this one(which I\’m also going to be like you and take for granted they are next door neighbors and not somewhere in the community because the posting has definitions for certain words being used inside the article like most insurance policies). I\’m also going to take your position that the neighbor\’s claims are identical to the lawsuit because the article discussed the cases and the other settlements in great detail. But, most intelligent people would gather all the facts before having diarreha of the mouth and really see what was going on.

\”Jury Selection Begins in La. Hurricane Lawsuit Against Allstate\”

To reference your question you keep asking all of us about slab cases…..at least State Farm was \”consistant\” across the board in their handling of claims. Being the intelligent person you are, you should realize this would makes it easier in a policy defense situation at trial then just bad claim handling…but from all your posting you failed to grasp that fact, you just saw it as a stupid company..It appears the people at State Farm are a little smarter than what you give them credit for….How \’bout you jump over to the other article and write some posting about how they handle their business because it appears State Farm is smarter than the average \”BEAR\”….30 years experience and look where it got you….you should try getting on with State Farm or Nationwide….it appears they have pretty good training about the big picture…..or can the \”old dog\” not learn new tricks…..

It would be difficult to find someone less knowledgable than you. According to you, the federal district court is hidng the judgements for State Farm and refusing to allow State Farm to publicize these cases? Fact is, there have been 4-6 adjudictaed by the court, all against State Farm.

Why is State Farm now settling cases they have denied for almost two years? Oh yeah, b/c they won all those secret slab cases. I am sorry you cannot think for yourself and are unable to perform the simplist of tasks, like doing your own research into the results of the cases. When you enter a discussion about a subject you have no knowledge, it is difficult for you to make a legitimate argument. You are now finding this out.

You continue to doiege the question, \”Where are the other carriers who denied clab cases?\”

Wow, and you call me unknowledgeable. That isn\’t what I said. Try reading again. Also, you didn\’t answer MY question- when did you review these court documents? I never claimed to know any other cases where slab has been denied. So, why do you keep expecting me to answer? I don\’t expect you to tell me all about fidelity bonds.

\”When you enter a discussion about a subject you have no knowledge, it is difficult for you to make a legitimate argument. You are now finding this out.\”

First of all, your command of the English language s*cks.

Secondly, David wrote \”Jewel…those of us that live in the real world understand your point and happen to agree.\” So I guess I do know something after all. I never claimed to have knowledge of something that I do not know about… but you have done so. Guess your response now will be to slam David and his supposed lack of knowledge.

I think most of us on this thread agree that you have rocks for brains. :)

Thanks for playing, hopefully you will win next time.

P.S. I bet you give away all the money… even if people don\’t have insurance you probably want to cut them a check. :)

I started this discussion by asking why is it that some are assuming from this article that all cases in mediation are State Farm cases? Apparently joe has some inside knowledge that all of them are only State Farm and Nationwide. Of course neither of them are named in the article.
Joe, you\’ve been asking everyone else on this site to prove their facts. How about we ask the same of you?

\”Thirty-eight more Hurricane Katrina insurance cases of Mississippi residents have been settled during court-order mediation, says U.S. District Judge L.T. Senter Jr.\”

Right on Mark! Since this article is all about Nationwide and State Farm, perhaps Joe can answer the following question:

If 38 cases have been settled and you keep stating the ones State Farm denied were slab cases, then why did you say only 4 – 6 cases have been adjudicated by the courts? Now are you saying that all the claims SF denied were slab cases? Or just the 4 – 6 that have been settled? What happened to the 32 – 34 other cases?

The reason I think you are unknowledgeable is because of all the holes in your story. You say one thing, then you say something contradictory. You never answer anyone else\’s question, except with a question of your own. Perhaps we think you are unknowledgeable because you have no clue.

Now, again (and I will repeat until everyone tells me I am annoying :) tell me when and where you read the court documents pertaining to these events…

Jewel, I forgot to mention that \”adjuster joe\” is a serial sexual harasser. I am sure you know the type of person and the origins from which they became…. good luck!

Joe… thanks for the civics lesson but I was already aware of Senter\’s position as a federal judge and not a state judge. But I\’m also not stupid enough to believe there isn\’t some bias leaning towards the people of Mississippi. The insurance policy has been in place for number of years. You brought up all the hurricane\’s that hit the Gulf Coast in the last 30-40 years. I guess since none of those damaged Senator Lott\’s house their wasn\’t much to do with any of them except let the people of Mississippi fight for themselves. If the courts visited the issue of flood v. wind back in Camille then I would assume it would be time to visit it again at the federal level. As you know from your experience issues have to be brought before the court to test waters from time to time. But I\’m sure you knew all that from your over 30 years experience of handling claims.
You keep referring to me as a State Farm employee. I am not an employee of State Farm just a policy holder. What ticks me off about the whole situation in Mississippi is my company put a contract in place that was approved by the Insurance Commissioner of your great state for a set premium. Now the courts are telling State Farm they have to pay for something that was in black in white for the past 20,30 maybe even 40 years.
But, you have still failed to anwser any of our questions regarding your facts. You are only assuming all these cases are State Farm. How do you know for sure some aren\’t Allstate, Farmer\’s, Farm Bureau or others that do business along the coast…….I\’m going to name you \”1%\”. Because that is amount of the public your opinion appears to represent. Good luck getting insurance in your state in the coming years. Senator Lott, Judge Senter, Hood and the others will be the one\’s to send the thank you too……

\”In the Broussard case State Farm was unable to offer substantial evidence that would have allowed the jury to apportion the total loss between covered windstorm forces and excluded water damage. In more recent cases, including Gemmill and Williams, State Farm was able to offer such proof. In all cases, State Farm has a right to offer any evidence it wishes to support its view of the relevant facts, and this right is part of the most fundamental requirements of due process, in my view.\” L.T. Senter, Jr. Senior Judge

Well, I guess adjusterjoe hasn\’t been back since he figured out he was so very wrong. They may have denied slab cases 100% (not that adjusterjoe has backed up that figure) but apparently this shows that in 66% of the cases (granted, this only takes into account 3 cases) State Farm was right.

    Lo and behold! A shock… hmm…

    Adjusterjoe- where are you???

I guess we will have to look for Joe on the next posting about State Farm. Maybe he will hope to find a new audience. That\’s ok, I will keep looking for him to continue our debate and look for the answer we\’ve all been looking for, where\’s his proof about 100% denial on all slab cases.
