West Virginia’s workers compensation carrier, BrickStreet Mutual Insurance Co., is forming a preferred provider organization for the treatment of injured workers employed by BrickStreet’s 38,000 policyholders.
The PPO, known as StreetSelect, is BrickStreet’s private labeling of Acordia’s CompNET, a product that historically has been offered to self-insured employers.
StreetSelect draws on Acordia’s existing network of medical providers to provide treatement for West Virginia workers who suffer work-related injuries or illnesses. StreetSelect policies, procedures and protocols will follow those already established by CompNET. Provider contracts signed with CompNET will apply to StreetSelect.
A PPO is a group of physicians and other medical providers who treat injured workers referred to them by a select group of policyholders and insurance companies — in this case, by BrickStreet. These providers agree to comply with various professional treatment guidelines and fee schedules set by the insurance provider.
