Hey 1C3, If this former girlfriend of Joyce\’s claims to know so much and has so much to say, why doesn\’t she just come forward? My husband and I have been friends with Joyce for over 35 years and have known Steve and Joyce for over 20, so I\’d say we\’re fairly knowledgable of who is considered their \”close friends\”.
The one thing you\’re right about is that you can\’t believe everything you hear. I will tell you one thing, Joyce Petrarca has has people envious of her for her entire life. An only child of devoted parents and then a step dad who was a doctor, she always lived a charmed life.
She\’s still one of the most generous and kind people we know. My first memory of her is seeing her driving, in the middle of winter one of her convertibles, which were always brand new and shiny – with the top down on the car, wearing huge sun glasses and a fur hat and coat. She was known as the \”doll of the valley\”! Everyone knows Joyce. Her former husband would have taken her back till his dying day, they remained friends and she sent a single rose to be buried wit him in his casket. Steve Petrarca has been in love with her all his life, she is \”the love of his life\”. People have said such cruel and nasty things about her, it makes me cringe.
The facts of this case are the facts. She has nothing to do with it, nothing at all. She was an innocent bystander and she\’s gotten caught in the cross-fire, it\’s not fair. To have had such a personal thing brought up for public forum is a tragedy. At least she has two daughters to stand by and support her, instead of just one. She has skads of friends, of all ages. And still God Bless her, her 85 year old mother.
Leave Joyce alone. She\’s been through enough and still stands tall and lovely with a snap in her step. Now in Florida she\’s still dropping the top on her car and tooling around town with her big sunglasses and silky-straw hats.

Joyce is so sweet, and so graceful, rivaled only by the likes of Sofia Lauren, she is, and always has been a commanding force in any room she entered, and a more giving and selfless woman I have never met. And if she didn\’t leave him, she\’d have lost everything – he died penniless and blind. God has a way of getting back at you. He moved in with his mother when they divorced and died there 15 years later. He was a creep too, he left nothing to his kids, Joyce took care of them, he never even honored the visitation he had. Wanted no part of his family and that\’s the truth.
I also remember the one friend that someone could have been talking about, she was a skinny boater with lots of money, but no class or facts straight. Did you ever hear the expression, a little knowledge is a dangerous thing? Well that\’s this chick. Met her and her husband in Fort Lauderdale, she needed Joyce to teach her how to dress, throw a party and set a table. Lots of money, no brains and no class. She would be the one they call \”Barbara WA-WA\” – like Barbata Walters, spreading stories this one that has no basis, some facts, but just makes up the rest. She used to call Joyce her best friend. There were originally 31 investors, 4 had their dollars returned immediately, that leaves 26 of us that want restitution. What is the State going to do to get us our money back? Petrarca still has a Mitigation coming up, how about it Judge Rapp, give the guy a chance to see what he can do.
