UICNA Releases Early Charley Numbers

Sarasota, Florida-based Universal Insurance Company of North America (UICNA), a subsidiary of Universal Insurance Group, has released early gross loss projections associated with Hurricane Charley between $4M and $9M. Net losses (net of reinsurance) are estimated at $1M.

“As of Sunday evening, we had contacted every claimant who had reported a loss and we have provided additional living allowances to those in need of relocation,” Felicia White, director of marketing and corporate communications for UICNA, commented. “We have experienced claims adjusters in the affected areas and have additional adjusters on stand-by.”

UICNA said it will continue the efforts that began throughout the weekend of serving the affected communities by providing financial assistance and supplies.

Ricardo Espino, president of UICNA stated, “Our employees and their families are Floridians. We are saddened by the devastation caused by Hurricane Charley to our neighbors and friends. We are taking a proactive approach and will do our part to effectively and efficiently manage the claims process for our insureds who have filed a claim.”
