Claimsnet.com inc., a provider of Internet-based ASP electronic claim processing solutions for the healthcare payer industry, announced that a health maintenance organization (HMO) serving South Florida has contracted to use Claimsnet’s system and services.
The HMO currently serves more than 200,000 members in South Florida and is reportedly continuing to grow in all sectors of the market. The HMO currently has no active clearinghouse relationship and receives almost all claims in paper format. The HMO utilizes adjudication software provided by one of Claimsnet’s strategic business partners.
Claimsnet will collect electronic healthcare claims from the customer’s providers, either directly or via clearinghouse trading partners, and Claimsnet’s system will ensure that the claims data meets the requirements of the customer’s system.
As previously announced, Claimsnet has deployed a payer-based version of its system and in January 2003 implemented a sales plan to reach the approximately 3,000 organizations in the healthcare payer business community, including insurance companies, health maintenance organizations, preferred provider organizations, third party administrators and related entities.
