The Alabama Department of Insurance announced its office in cyberspace has a new name on its front door, www.aldoi.gov, which the agency says reflects its mission as a servant of the people of the state of Alabama.
“We didn’t do this lightly,” Commissioner Walter A. Bell said. “We are a governmental entity that exists to respond to the needs of the people. It is also brings us in line with other agencies and will provide easier access to those attempting to search a variety of Alabama governmental sites.”
Citizens will be able to use either the new Web site name—www.aldoi.gov—or the previous name until December 1, but after that only the new name will work on web browsers.
“We hope that Alabama citizens will find our site useful,” Commissioner Bell said. “We are making important changes to our site over the next few months—including the ability for producers to renew their licenses online. We will also be adding more consumer-driven features as well.”
