Authorities are investigating after a bull rider died over the weekend during an accident at a rodeo in northern Oklahoma.
Cherokee Strip Riding Club Vice President Shane Parli says the bull rider died Saturday during the club’s TCRA Rodeo in Perry. Authorities and rodeo officials haven’t released the bull rider’s name or offered details on how he died, citing the ongoing investigation.
The rodeo’s livestock contractor, Sumner Rodeo Co., had said the victim participated in several rodeos with the organization. The Pawnee County Sheriff’s Office didn’t immediately return a call seeking more details Monday, nor did the Oklahoma medical examiner’s office.
