A luxury house has been left teetering about 75 feet above a Central Texas lake since the cliff the home is built on began collapsing.
WFAA-TV in Dallas-Fort Worth reported Wednesday that the house has been condemned and the owners evacuated about two weeks ago.
Hill County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Mark Wilson says another chunk of cliff broke off Tuesday night.
Soil and other debris have been falling from beneath the 4,000 square-foot-home above Lake Whitney, a resort development about 60 miles south of Fort Worth. Tax records show the home in the White Bluff Resort subdivision near Whitney was built in 2007 and is worth more than $700,000.
A message left with the resort developer wasn’t immediately returned Wednesday.
