Authorities are investigating a fire that destroyed the Mountain Pine Fire Department’s training facility.
Lt. Kevin Green says authorities consider the fire suspicious because the building had no utilities hooked up that could have sparked a blaze. The Sentinel-Record reports the fire happened at about 11:30 a.m. Wednesday.
Green says the building had been used as a training facility. It’s located about 50 feet behind the Mountain Pine fire station.
Green says the building is a total loss. About $2,500 in equipment was also destroyed in the blaze.
