The company’s top 10 sedans and subcompact crossovers to insure, beginning with the most affordable make and model, includes three vehicles from Hyundai Motor Group (one Hyundai and two Kias) and two from Nissan:

Factors contributing to insurance costs on Mercury’s list included claims on similar vehicles, costs to repair and vehicle safety records. Mercury’s research and development team examined vehicles currently available at car dealerships.
This is the 10th year Mercury has compiled the list, which includes 2025 and 2026 model-year vehicles.
