XL Group’s North America Property & Casualty insurance business has promoted Donna Nadeau to the position of chief operating officer, reporting to Joe Tocco, chief executive.
Nadeau previously served as chief actuary.
She assumes the COO role previously held by Mike Garceau, recently named chief financial officer of XL Group’s global insurance operations. In this role, she will manage the operational functions supporting XL Group’s NAPC businesses which include Property, Excess & Surplus, Environmental, North America Programs, Construction, Excess Casualty, and Global Risk Management, which includes US Risk Management and Multinational Casualty.
In addition to leading budget & planning processes, Nadeau’s responsibilities also include developing the business’ support and strategic resources and directing its expense, performance and IT management.
Since joining XL Group in 2003, Nadeau has held progressively more senior actuarial and management positions. In recognition of her contributions, she was named a managing director to XL Group’s Leadership Council in May 2014. Prior to her tenure with XL, she held actuarial positions with Kemper Insurance Companies and Liberty Mutual.
She is a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society and a member of the American Academy of Actuaries.
