Selective Insurance Group, Inc. announced its Board of Directors has elected John Marchioni as president and chief operating officer.
Gregory E. Murphy, who remains chairman and chief executive officer, previously held the president title.
Marchioni served as executive vice president, Insurance Operations, with oversight for Selective’s property and casualty insurance operations since December 2008. He joined Selective in 1998 and has held a variety of leadership positions, including vice president, director of government affairs, vice president and strategic business unit leader, senior vice president, director of Personal Lines, and executive vice president, chief field operations officer.
Previously, he was vice president of government relations for the Commerce & Industry Association of New Jersey.
Marchioni holds the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriters (CPCU) designation.
