State Farm must be a real nice company to pay millions out that they don\’t owe. We need more nice companies in America. I read my homeowners policy and it excludes flooding, storm surge, wind and hail. We need more good trial lawyers in America too. Isn\’t it a great time to be alive in America. Senate and House back with the Democrats will impeach evil Bush soon maybe. Insurance companies paying excluded coverage, war in Iraq going Democrats way as well, and of course don\’t forget the invention of the internet.
It might not be a bad idea for the Feds and/or states to develop a government-organized coastal product that would include the perils of wind and flood, open to all within 100 miles of coastal waters.
Imagine having a cat peril policy where there are no huge squabbles over who pays! Imagine policy holders who are paid based upon the actual damages, without losing valuable rebuild dollars to hoardes of ambulance chasers seeking their 30%+. Imagine insurance companies coming back to the coast, eager to write business. Imagine non-coastal citizens not having to help foot the bill for those who choose to live in (or who live in my circumstance) coastal or low-lying areas.
Living in an area that is subject to the occassional hurricane, as well as seasonal flooding, I would be most eager to purchase such a product just for my peace of mind.
Yes, it\’s all a fantasy. It would be too hard for the government to simplify cat coverage. They don\’t want to be in the insurance business (even though they already are via NFIP and countless judicial hours spent on fighting over wind vs water), and they certainly wouldn\’t want to take food out of the mouths of the likes of Scruggs and his cronies.
Oh well – when my hurricane comes and takes my house and floods my community, I guess I\’ll be screwed too.

Why are they allowing this Special 600 and 1 Lawyer to share in $50 Million.
If you live in a box, & lost the box,
