The American Institute for CPCU is now accepting nominations for the AICPCU Insurance Executive Development (IED) Program at The Wharton School. Designed and delivered in partnership with The Wharton School’s Aresty Institute of Executive Education, the IED program will be held Sept. 26 to Oct. 9, 2004, on the University of Pennsylvania’s campus in Philadelphia.
This intensive program combines a solid foundation of core business functions with the real-world knowledge needed to manage people and processes in the context of implementing strategy. Program content emphasizes communication, negotiation, leadership, and managing a changing workforce.
The typical IED participant is a regional or business unit manager in a functional area (e.g., claims, underwriting, information technology, legal, or human resources). He or she has operational and tactical responsibilities, including implementing strategy.
IED program participants (1) learn to manage people and processes outside their current functional area, (2) develop necessary operational skills to implement strategic initiatives, (3) acquire successful negotiation strategies and tactics, and (4) learn effective ways to exercise leadership.
