Ohio Sinkhole That Trapped Bus Repaired

Authorities say a sinkhole that opened beneath a Metro bus in Cincinnati has been repaired.

The Metropolitan Sewer District of Greater Cincinnati said Thursday that it has completed repairs on a nearly 100-year-old sewer line that collapsed under a city street on June 19.

The rear of the bus was trapped when buckled pavement gave way into a sinkhole at least 15 feet deep and about 15 feet wide. The driver wasn’t injured and wasn’t carrying passengers. Tow trucks had to pull out the bus from the area where the sewer line collapsed.

Officials say the collapsed section of pipe was replaced and the pavement over it has been restored.
