Central Michigan University is asking for $174,294 from an ex- basketball player and her lawyer over their failed sex discrimination complaint involving coach Sue Guevara.
The Saginaw News says the university asked U.S. District Judge Thomas L. Ludington in Bay City to impose the costs on ex-player Brooke Heike and lawyer Cindy Rhodes Victor.
In May, Ludington dismissed Heike’s sexual discrimination lawsuit against the school.
Victor’s law firm is Victor Firm of Sterling Heights. It has declined comment.
Heike lost her scholarship after the 2007-08 season, and her suit said it was because she wasn’t the coach’s “type.” The school says Heike was cut for her attitude and lack of hard work.
