Thank you for insulting me. I do have some news for you though since you hold your Veteran status in such high regard. Before I became an insurance agent, I was a Commander in the US Navy, with over 3000 flight hours in F-14\’s and F-18\’s defending the same country and freedoms you do.

Don\’t ever question my commitment to my country Sergeant. Why you feel it is necessary to personally attack someone\’s integrity is beyond me?

This discussion was about protecting yourself and all I asked were some simple questions to you to explain my logic in wearing a helmet for safety. Everyone is entitled to an opinion without being insulting like you have been.

Thanks for ruining this discussion for me, as it was a great place to get people\’s opinions until now.

Hey, no problem. Your welcome. I Thank you for your service, however your high and mighty, I know whats best for others attitude sucks. Pompous is the word that comes to mind. Hope you can get back in tune with the world, as you see it, \”Commander\”.

Jennifer has a lot of plans for Michigan; she just can\’t follow through with them. She failed to keep/bring any jobs in Michigan (unless you count Wal-Mart), failed to handle the sky rocketing costs of education, failed to keep schools open, failed to keep crime down, and now has failed to evaluate the facts behind motorcycle accidents. Education is needed. I am reminded of this every time a car cuts me off or I see teenagers riding scooters with a passenger and neither of them have a helmet on. Once again she has failed to make the right decision. Her ad campaigns for re-election are a joke. One says she\’s brought 300 quality jobs to Michigan, what about the 6,000 that were lost at Pfizer alone, not to mention all the other plants closing or closed down in SW Michigan. A lot of these facts are reported regularly on the news every week, but I have lived through some of it and have first hand experience. Granholms has had her chance, now just like Michigan jobs, she must go.

Here\’s an idea….repeal the helmet law… and pass another that makes head injuries/death that could have been prevented by wearing a helmet non-compensatable- regardless of fault. That way….it\’s your choice to ride with out a helmet and it\’s your choice to pay the bill for any resulting injury. You assume the risk to ride with out a helmet…you assume the bills!

Oh wait… that would actually make you responsible for your choices…we are too litigious a society for that…go figure -actually make someone responsible for their own poor choices…never!

I think that would be fine as long as it included every single case where the injury could have been prevented had safety equipment been used.

Really I wonder how high the insurance rates go due to unbelted drivers? Drivers on cellphones or tuning the radio hitting pedestrians or bikers without helmets?

I wonder how much you have paid out for Pedestrians legally crossing the street without helmets who have been hit by cars? Walkers like bikers are somehow hard to see, especially when you are not paying attention.

Think of all the money paid out to children on wheels hit by those cars who never seem to see them.

Maybe instead of stripping everyone of their personal rights, how about enforceing a driver safety course every 4 years when you renew your license. Most Bikers and Walkers are hit by CARS who for some reason could not see them, or how about we pull licenses for every driver who has hit a biker or pedestrian and demand that driver secure a HUGE insurance policy to cover the next rider or walker they hit.

Congrats Becky & scott f….you two represent the final word as far as I\’m concerned on this website.
WE need both of you to join ABATE…one of the last organizations in this country committed to individual freedom over big brother control.
I am a husband, father of 4, grandfather of 7, former scoutmaster, active in my church and civic organizations in my community and prepared to work diligently to throw guv Jen OUT OF OFFICE this November.
America doesn\’t have much longer to consider ourselves a \”free\” country with people like granholm in office.
If she should be re-elected I\’m moving to Florida!

It is obvious to me that are half assed governonr has never ridden a motorcycle. After reading her decision, I would suggest she outlaw cars also. They kill far more people than the extra 20 she is so worried about in our state per year. Give me a break granholm. But dont worry my dear, there are plenty of us you just screwed that are going to vote your buns out of office. I have watched you compensate bad behavior \”benton harbor\”. Does that ring a bell governor. Why dont we all just burn down our town, so you can come over and waste tax dollars on people with no self respect for the taxpayers. But dont worry, all those votes you think you bought are probably too tired from drinking all night to vote for you. But I shall make damn sure I vote against you. I as one american am tired or your\”big brother attitude\” to protect us \”common folk\” you think you are helping. See you next election. And farewell to you

I can\’t believe any politician in a state the size of MI would boast of adding 300 jobs in their campaign. In NH 300 jobs is a big deal but to bring it up in MI is shooting herself in the foot and pointing out what a bad job she has done. Not only is she paternalistic (maternalistic??) for vetoing this bill but also just plain stupid.

BS. I see. You\’re one of those people who don\’t want to address a particular problem unless everyone ELSE fixes THEIR problems first, right?

I\’m not. I\’m a biker (HD FLSTC owner) who believes we should ALL be responsible, and who sees that unfortunately fellow riders refuse to show that sense of responsibility.

You can\’t control every variable in an accident. You should at least try to control what\’s important. Helmets are.

I guess you\’re one of those people who are also against seat-belt laws?
