ERC Adds to Global Experience with 3 Appointments

Kansas-based GE’s Employers Reinsurance Corporation (ERC) announced several appointments to add to its global expertise.

* David Bassi is the new global risk & underwriting leader for
ERC’s P/C reinsurance unit;

* Cora Stahrenberg is the new human resources leader for the
company’s P/C reinsurance unit; and

* Constance Ward is the new communications leader for the
company’s P/C reinsurance unit.

“David, Cora and Connie bring a global orientation to our business,” said Rick Smith, president & CEO of ERC’s Global P/C reinsurance unit. “They think and act strategically and understand how
to address the broad challenges of our industry – both from an
internal and market perspective.”

Bassi helped establish ERC’s first corporate Risk Management
function and has served as a regional manager for GE Medical
Protective and risk manager for ERC’s Asia-Pacific regional unit. His
career also includes pricing and reserving positions with CNA,
Commercial Union and Kemper Insurance.

Bassi will be responsible for maintaining clear alignment of the
risk and underwriting processes and help lead ERC’s professional
development program for its underwriters.

Stahrenberg is a native of Germany, and has held a number of
Human Resources positions at ERC. Most recently, she has employed her Six Sigma Master Black Belt designation to lead a number of key
initiatives to improve the company’s HR processes. She will be based at ERC’s offices in Munich.

In her new role, Ward will be responsible for integrating all facets of global internal and external communications in ERC’s Global P/C business.

To serve the needs of the multinational organization, Ward’s team
will be based in London and Cheltenham, England; in Munich; and at
ERC’s Overland Park, Kansas, headquarters. She has worked as a
business communicator, consultant, author/editor, teacher and
journalist.
