Farmers Insurance Group announced it is reducing auto rates in the state of Illinois. Farmers customers in Illinois will see a rate decrease of 4.2 percent effective Sept. 1. Farmers will also be introducing a brand new Affinity discount for several occupation groups.
“Improved loss results and a favorable regulatory environment have allowed us to pass the savings on to the customer,” said Bill Matlock, Farmers’ Illinois state executive director. “We are pleased we can give something back to our customers,” added Matlock.
The Affinity discount will be made available to educators, policemen, firefighters, engineers, scientists, physicians/surgeons and nurses. The Affinity discount will give customers the opportunity for an additional 5 percent discount.
Farmers Insurance is the 4th largest insurer of private passenger autos in Illinois with over 388,706 autos and 212,411 homes insured.
