Police say a truck and a small bus have crashed in southern Hungary, killing 14 people and seriously injuring two more.
The accident happened shortly before midnight Sunday between the cities of Mako and Szeged, near the border with Romania.
Both vehicles were from Romania.
Police from Csongrad county said Monday that the only survivors of the accident were the truck driver and one bus passenger. Three children are among the dead.
Police believe the accident took place when the truck, transporting wood to Germany, broke through a barrier separating the two sides of the M43 highway and fell on its side. The bus, en route to the Romanian capital Bucharest, crashed into the truck and both vehicles fell into a roadside ditch.
