A Richmond, Va., judge has approved a $100,000 settlement in a wrongful death lawsuit filed against a motorist previously convicted in a hit-and-run accident involving a bicyclist.
The family of Lanie Kruszewski filed the civil lawsuit in June against Elias Webb of Richmond. Media outlets report Circuit Judge Richard Taylor Jr. approved the settlement Wednesday.
The 32-year-old Webb was sentenced in July to three years in prison. A jury found him guilty of felony hit-and-run in February.
Prosecutors say an SUV driven by Webb hit the 24-year-old Kruszewski as she was riding a bicycle in July 2012.
