The town that hosted MTV’s “Jersey Shore” wants to leave a lasting legacy with money raised by the show’s cast.
Officials in Seaside Heights, N.J., want to use $1 million from a November benefit by the reality show members to build a seawall to protect the boardwalk.

Snooki, Pauly D and the rest of the “Jersey Shore” cast spent a lot of time partying on the boardwalk in the four summers the show was filmed in Seaside Heights.
Borough administrator John Camera tells The Asbury Park Press that the wall could cost between $1 million and $2 million. He says Seaside Heights can’t use FEMA money for the wall because it is a new project. Using the money from the “Jersey Shore” benefit would reduce the burden taxpayers.
