A 2012 hurricane evacuation guide for Virginia is now available to the public.
The guide contains essential hurricane season information, including evacuation routes, traffic reversal plans along Interstate 64 and family preparedness.
It was paid for by a federal grant and was produced by the Virginia Department of Transportation, the Department of Emergency Management and the Hampton Roads Planning District Commission.
About 175,000 copies of the guide were printed for the 2012 hurricane season.
They are available online and through several agencies and organizations. Printed copies can be obtained by contacting the Department of Emergency Management at (866) 782-3470.
