An early morning fire swept through a vacant building at the Connecticut Valley Hospital campus in Middletown, but authorities say no one was injured.
Fire officials say Weeks Hall was engulfed in flames when they arrived at about 1:30 a.m. Tuesday. Firefighters from surrounding towns were called in to help, and it took several hours to get the blaze under control.
Authorities say the building has been vacant for years. Connecticut Valley Hospital is a state-run treatment facility for people with mental health illness.
Fire marshals are trying to determine the cause of the blaze.
