The city of Buena Vista, Virginia has been added to a disaster declaration issued in February for areas affected by severe winter storms in December.
State and federal officials announced Buena Vista’s eligibility for public disaster assistance on Friday.
The February disaster declaration made money available to the state and local governments and to certain nonprofit organizations for emergency work and the repair of facilities damaged by the Dec. 18-20 storms. It now covers 50 jurisdictions from Alexandria to Wise County.
