Authorities say a New Jersey man died and his brother was injured when a 2,000 gallon gasoline storage tank exploded when they tried to saw it open.
The Morris County Prosecutor’s Office says the underground tank was dug up from Donald Brodhecker’s Washington Township property when the brothers decided to cut it open. Officials believe sparks from the saw ignited vapors in the tank.
Donald Brodhecker suffered facial burns.
His 43-year-old brother, Michael, was pronounced dead at the scene.
