Well, in some states, that repeat offender speeder would be charged with negligent manslaughter, a FELONY punishable by 5-10 years in prison, so yeah, I do think that person should do prison time.

Sorry kiddies I speak for myself. I have no ties with M.A.D.D. I just see for myself the lack of judicial enforcement on Drunk Drivers in the news and in courts.I like to have a drink or two but refrain from operating a motor vehicle. That’s all I and other victims ask people to do.Don’T Drink and Drive, simple as that. I don’t care if you puke your toe nails up daily, just don’t drive !.After 25 years in E.M.S. My Wife and I have seen enough devistation these drunks cause, and I don’t mean just the falling down putrid ones.

Repeat offenders, whether it be drunk driving, reckless driving, speeding, underage, driving without a license… whatever the reason, should all be severly punished. We have laws in place for a reason. Break them once, try to learn your lesson. Break them a second, third time, you didn’t learn your lesson and should pay the consequences. This will only serve to make the roads a safer place for all.

    How does that sound?

    Hank,
We already have this somewhat in place here in California. It’s called the “three strikes” law. Only works if you work it. It sounds good, however, some people don’t learn from their first mistake or even their second or third, either!

I don’t know what makes some people on this board think that they are entitled to drive and drink and drive? Again, it is a priveledge, not a right, to drive. Where were these people’s parents when they were growing up? Didn’t they see “Red Asphalt” in driver’s ed? Why do they have this feeling of entitlement? OK, OK, now I get it! They drink, and drink and drink….and of course they KNOW that they are OK to drive- theya re a walking breathalizer. How can they say it’s their “constitutional right” to drive if they are so inebriated? Even if they are not so inebriated, what makes them so sure they can handle a 2,000LB weapon of mass destruction? :) I’m tired of people throwing around the U. S. Constitution as an excuse for their entitlement. As always, it’s the “me first” mentality of some of these people.
    Again, man’s inhumanity against man…

For All you “Rights” yappers, nowhere in the Constitution does is say anything about the right to DRIVE! We are talking about D.W.I. which is a potentially dangerous happening.Go visit a Funeral Home when there is a wake for a D.W.I. Victim or two, open your yaps about “Rights ” there, whose are violated now. The D.W.I. law in these United States are antiquated, NEED A CHANGE.Lets see now, we have Animal rights protesters,Gay rights protesters, Tax protesters and on and on. But Damn few D.W.I. PROTESTORS.You loud mouth, idiots insult all the D.W.I.victims in America. I there were road checks just maybe, just maybe my Wife, Son And Daughter would be alive today. The only Justice in this is that the drunk driver died on the way to the hospital,His foolish actions spoiled Christmas for the rest of us FOREVER.Now Shut up and hang your heads in shame.

Nope Im not lying – THis is what me and a million other people do every weekend – It shows how out of touch you are.

Try it some time. Have a few drinks and drive home – Its not that hard.

Once again if im just lucky, how come their arent more accidents????

You are really out of touch.

    Adam,

Who’s out of touch? As a 25 year old you have NO IDEA what life, love or work really is about. Oh, you think you do, but you really don’t.

In a few years it will all become crystal clear to you that you are, in fact, ignorant. Ignorance is cured with time, provided you live that long.

Scientist have proven that not all the connections are made in the brain of a man until he is in his early 30’s; so I’m not just talking from experience, I have scientific proof that you ain’t all there yet.

Don’t kill ’em all until their done growing (I’m referring to your brain cells just in case you wandered).

Actually thats a myth – Alcohol does kill brain cells, but they grow back. Brain cells are constantly dieing and growing back.

And I know many 30 40 and 50 year olds that get wasted and drive home with no troubles. – You do as well – You just may not not know it.

Go back to your little church now with its shrinking congregation.

You’ve just proven to me that you are an idiot (not that there was any doubt). There is nothing that you can offer to this discussion any longer.

I never said it was automatic that “smarts” came with age, it’s just more likely that one finally “gets it.” But some people are stupid forever.

Beyond it just being stupid to drink and drive (regardless of the fact you’ve done it in the past – which is nothing to brag about), it is also completely irresponsible (I don’t care how old the driver is).

You DO have a responsibility to others; or don’t they teach you that in college these days? Don’t give me any childish argument about everyone or anyone else doing it; when your “rights” invade and endanger someone else’s space your “rights” end.

My whole point is that ive never been in an accident while drunk – So whats the problem smart guy??

Maybe im just a really good driver, have you ever considered that?

Many many many people drink and drive without incident.

    THAT IS A FACT.

Drunken driving is rampant, and 99% of the time nothing happens.

    Sorry, but the TRUTH HURTS!
