The real point in this, as in most lawsuits, is money.

The real point is that this country is in the bind that it’s in because of women like this and white men who have sold out to them and their minority in crime partners. We are not equal, thee ae differences, kids in daycare are not as well taken care of and men do not have equal care giving skills to women. Once her promotion went through she’d be two to three years before thye could fire her for leaving every three minutes because daycare was calling. Not that she SHOULDN’T leave due to daycare but she shouldn’t be working with 4 kids, three of them age 6.

So, Compman, it would be entirely HER fault if the kids FATHER decided work was more important than raising the kids for him, too, right?

Nothing in the story indicates that the kids are in daycare, they are old enough to be in full-day school anyway, and it only takes a little flexibility to make that work. My wife goes downtown to her corporate actuarial job at 5:30 AM, while I stay home with the kids until they’re off to school. She gets home before they do. I open the agency before lunch and work until dinner.

If I refused to change my schedule to accommodate the kids, would it have been my wife’s fault the kids had to go to daycare?

I’m with Reagan. People need to set their priorities. You’re either a parent, or you chase a career. If you can juggle it fine. But odds are with 4 children this woman’s focus would be interupted routinely. An employer should not have to accomodate peoples desires.

Of course the PC thing would have been to give her the job and let the chips fall wherever. I believe there would be sufficient evidence pro or con within 6 months of her ability to function effectively.

My mother had two kids. My parents were divorced when I was two and let’s just say we couldn’t depend on my father for well…anything. My mother rotated three shifts to support us. We spent a lot of our time with my grandmother or baby sitters. There is no one in this world that I respect more than her. My brother and I both have become very sucessful adults. Additionally, she has shown me that I can do anything I put my mind to. I guess my point is that it’s not how much time you spend with your children, but how you utilize that time. Even if she had to take more time off than the average employee, her skills were still of value to her employer. If you are a valuable employee, your company will deal with it. there is oviously something we are not being told in this article. As for those narrow-minded individuals that think a woman cannot juggle kids and a career, you should speak to my mom. I only pray that you manly men have half the drive that she possesses.

A better life for her children would be to entrust her husband would be a provider and never leave her for someone younger or leave her without the ability to buy milk. But hey, we don’t all live in dreamland. Any woman out there but watch out for this tired old rhetroic as he’ll leave you broke depending on social security and people just like you telling her “well she should have seen it coming”. Get real. Hope you don’t tell your daughter to depend on someone else for her financial peace because that would be a shame to mislead her into thinking someone else would care for her and her offspring when it’s untrue. Get Smart Women!
