New York State Insurance Department personnel have been deployed at multiple locations in Westchester County to assist residents of communities struck by severe flooding.
Department personnel will be available to answer inquiries regarding insurance policies and coverage, as well as to assist with insurance-related complaints.
Disaster recovery centers were opened April 27 and operations are expected to continue through the week as needed.
Centers are located at Eastchester Town Library, 11 Oak Ridge Place and Mamaroneck Town Center, 740 W. Boston Post Rd.
The Department’s Mobile Command Center is being dispatched to New Rochelle where it will be located at 90 Beauford Place.
The disaster recovery efforts follow flooding caused by heavy Nor’Easter rains two weeks ago. Westchester County and other parts of the region were declared eligible for federal disaster assistance.
