I\’d rather know someone married 5 times, than to know a couple unhappily married for several wasted years. At least she has the fortitude to keep trying and not to give up just because of what most of society is conditioned to.

\”contrary to centuries of tradition\” -but indirect conflict with the LAW!

Gee why did they pass a law? To protect men from bitches like this.

Those silly laws, so many are contrary to hundreds of years of tradition, like Slavery.

Ungh, he\’s made my list of judges to never get elevated.

    And the pinhead politician too.

Ohh Smitty been dumped a few times have we? How about a law that protects women from less than honest men? Point is the law makers are going too far- we have enough stupid laws- what\’s next a law preventing some one for farting in public because it made someone toss their McDonalds lunch on public transit and they are tired spending money to repaint?

    Please seek counseling….

Last spring, he gave her a 2 1/2-carat princess cut diamond set in hand-crafted platinum.

Less than two months later, he asked for it back.

Wonder what happened in those two short months….wonder who is the b-tch here.

They used to say if an engagement ring was given on an occsaion like a birthday or Christmas, it was a gift & the woman did not have to give it back if the engagement was called off; if it was given only for the engagement, then it was a contract & had to be returned. Now, apparently the law regulates these things. But, what would have happened if they fell on hard times while engaged & had decided together to sell the diamond, but keep the ring? Would the woman have to pay back the cost of the original stone? The whole idea of regulating jewelry this way is ridiculous. There are too many issues that can come up. Also–why do so many of you assume the woman was at fault for ending the engagement here, when it clearly says her ex asked for the ring back? This story is obviously missing a lot of details–maybe his ending the engagement left her with a lot of expenses. There are too many variables here.

This article has to do with insurable interest. How many times do unknowing agents add a ring for the daughter to dad\’s policy? And, if the girl dumps the guy and decides to keep the ring, she is not a giftee but a tortfeasor!

There are several comments regarding the women in this situation; they ask, why does it have to be the womans fault that the marriage did not work out… that is not the issue here; it didn\’t work and she was a B.I.T.C.H. for not giving the ring back and selling the stone… then she had the audacity to put a cubic in it\’s place!!! This is the reason why many men aren\’t enthusiastic about marriage and spend a lot of time on their bass boats!!

His new girlfriend\’s age does not transpire from the newspiece… she probably wanted a sportscar and he badly needed immediate cash. All these things happen whenever the small head goes faster that the big one.
