After a year of doing business on the East Coast, ADESA Long Island will celebrate its first anniversary during the week of June 7. The celebration will take place at the auction’s facility located at 425 Patchogue Yaphank Rd. in Yaphank, N.Y.
“After hosting a successful year of used vehicle sales in a previously untapped market, we’re very excited about reaching this milestone,” said Todd Darr, general manager of ADESA Long Island. “As Long Island’s dealer only wholesale vehicle auction, our first year of business has been significant because we have formed strong relationships with Long Island vehicle dealers and we have trained around 100 employees with limited auction experiences. The result has been a positive contribution to Long Island and to our customers who visit the auction every week.”
Beginning June 8 at 10 a.m. ET, the auction will host its regular Tuesday sale with Chase Auto Finance, ARI, Enterprise Rent-A-Car and dealer consignment. On June 11 at 10 a.m. ET, ADESA Long Island will host its bi-weekly open Ford Motor Credit and dealer consignment sale. Both sales will feature giveaways and food in the lanes for attending dealers.
“I have been coming to ADESA Long Island since they opened their doors in 2003 and I would not miss the anniversary sales for anything,” said Joseph Montalbano, used car manager for Riverhead Auto Mall in Long Island. “The ADESA Long Island staff has created an atmosphere where it is a pleasure to do business and I enjoy my weekly trips to the auction.”
Located on two pieces of property, ADESA Long Island’s main auction building is on 30 acres and houses the arena and administrative offices in a 36,430 square-foot facility. The receiving, reconditioning and mechanical shop property is housed on 17.5 acres.
Additionally, ADESA Long Island has six fully-automated auction lanes, 500 dealer parking spaces, four covered consignment registration lanes, and sale parking for over 1,500 consigned units. The auction also houses a 120,000 square-foot vehicle loading and unloading area that is big enough to receive hundreds of vehicles at one time.
As an added benefit to customers, ADESA Long Island provides a secure, around the clock dealer drop-off and pre-registration area. Weekly consignment and factory sales are hosted every Tuesday and Friday.
