NOVEMBER 2, 2026 – Sinistar, a pioneering, AI-enabled, technology-first temporary housing platform purpose-built for insurance claims, today announced that Peter Piotrowski, a highly accomplished insurance executive with more than 35 years of leadership experience spanning global insurance carriers, high-net-worth personal insurance, and emerging insurtech companies, has joined the company as Strategic Advisor.
Peter is a widely respected leader in the U.S. property and casualty insurance industry, recognized for his expertise in claims transformation, operational excellence, and delivering exceptional customer experiences. His career uniquely bridges traditional insurance operations, the specialized service demands of the high-net-worth market, and the innovation-driven insurtech sector. Throughout his career, he has successfully led claims organizations through periods of transformation, leveraging technology, data, and customer-centric strategies to improve operational performance, financial outcomes, and policyholder satisfaction.
Most recently, Peter served as Chief Claims Officer at Hippo, a technology-driven homeowners insurance company, where he led the transformation of its claims organization, advancing digital capabilities, AI-enabled workflows, operational efficiency, and customer service performance. Under his leadership, the organization achieved significant improvements in claims quality, customer satisfaction, and employee engagement.
Prior to Hippo, Peter served for six years as Chief Claims Officer at Vault, a specialty insurance provider focused on the high-net-worth personal insurance market. At Vault, he led claims operations serving affluent policyholders with complex property exposures and elevated expectations for personalized service, responsiveness, and claims resolution. Earlier in his career, Peter held senior claims leadership positions at The Hanover Insurance Group, AIG, and Chubb, gaining extensive experience across both traditional and specialty insurance markets.
Peter’s decision to join Sinistar reflects his belief that temporary housing represents a significant opportunity for innovation within the insurance claims ecosystem. Drawing on his experience in both the insurtech and high-net-worth insurance sectors, Peter understands that the speed, quality, and suitability of temporary housing arrangements can have a profound impact on the policyholder experience. For insurers, these services also directly influence claim cycle times, loss costs, operational efficiency, and customer retention. Sinistar’s technology-driven platform is designed to address these challenges through greater transparency, intelligent housing solutions, and improved coordination between insurers, adjusters, and displaced policyholders.
As Strategic Advisor, Peter will work closely with Sinistar’s leadership team to support its U.S. market expansion, go-to-market strategy, strategic insurer relationships, and product development. His experience across traditional carriers, high-net-worth insurance, and insurtech organizations will help Sinistar tailor its solutions to the diverse needs of the U.S. property insurance market, from mainstream homeowners claims to complex, high-value residential losses.
Alexis Vertefeuille, Founder and CEO of Sinistar, commented:
“Temporary housing is about helping people regain stability after a loss while giving adjusters the tools and visibility to support them effectively. Peter brings an exceptional combination of experience across leading global insurers, the high-net-worth insurance market, and the rapidly evolving insurtech sector. His understanding of both the operational complexities of claims and the importance of delivering an exceptional policyholder experience will be invaluable as we expand our presence in the U.S. market. We’re excited to leverage his expertise to strengthen our platform, deepen insurer relationships, and accelerate our next phase of growth.”
Peter Piotrowski added:
“Throughout my career, spanning traditional insurance carriers, high-net-worth specialty insurers, and the insurtech sector, I’ve consistently focused on delivering exceptional customer experiences while embracing innovation to improve claims outcomes. Temporary housing is a particularly important part of that experience, especially when families are displaced following a significant property loss. What attracted me to Sinistar is its innovative approach to modernizing a traditionally underserved segment of the claims process through technology, transparency, and a strong commitment to the policyholder. I see tremendous opportunity to bring these capabilities to the U.S. insurance market, and I’m excited to work with Alexis and the Sinistar team to help accelerate their growth and deliver meaningful value to insurers and the customers they serve.”
