October 7th Lunch Discussion: The State of California Workers’ Compensation…. not for the Faint of Heart

SAN DIEGO – The Insurance Brokers & Agents of San Diego along with the Insurance Industry Charitable Foundation of San Diego will be hosting a lunch discussion on October 7, 2009 with guest speaker Linda Smith, President of Preferred Employers. The topic will be “The State of California Workers’ Compensation….not for the Faint of Heart.”

California’s workers’ compensation insurance market has been a roller-coaster ride of financial highs and lows. Linda Smith will cover:

  • Pre-reform: A look back.
  • Current trends and observations of the marketplace.
  • The upside of the reforms…..will they continue?
  • Future effects of the current political and economic situation.
  • Loss and loss expense trends….their impact on ratemaking.
  • The road ahead….where do we go from here?

The discussion will be held on Wednesday, October 7, 2009 at the Handlery Hotel at 950 Hotel Circle North in San Diego. Registration begins at 11:50am and the lunch and discussion will begin at 12:00pm. The cost is $35.00 per person and $5.00 will be donated to the Insurance Industry Charitable Foundation.
