Sgt. David Bravo and Spc. Anna Shum are due to receive the Army Commendation Medal from 17th Sustainment Brigade Col. Vernon Scarbrough for rescuing the man from the vehicle before an explosion.
Spc. Michaelangelo Bonsignore and Pvt. 1st Class Kevin Martinez are slated to receive the Army Achievement Medal for directing traffic around the accident so Bravo and Shum could safely perform first aid.
