$270,000 Lamborghini Damaged by Uninsured Tow Company

June 5, 2014

A California couple of Corona is facing three charges of auto collision and auto property fraud associated with making false statements to an insurance company for a $292,000 claim for damage to a 2007 Lamborghini Gallardo.

Michael and Danielle Goar received a contract to tow a 2007 Lamborghini Gallardo and during the move were involved in a collision. The couple provided false statements to their insurance company stating the tow was a personal trip and not part of their towing business. The Department of Insurance investigation revealed evidence that contradicted the Goar’s statements and proved it was a tow commercial business towing job and therefore would not be covered by their personal auto insurance policy. The suspects did not have a commercial insurance policy associated with their tow business.

This case is being prosecuted by the local district attorney’s office. If convicted, the Goars could face up to five years in state prison and a $50,000 fine.
