Eloy, Ariz., police and fire district officials are investigating the latest in an 8-year-long string of home fires in the same subdivision.
Investigators believe there’s a good chance the fires in vacant mobile and manufactured homes are connected. Fire Marshal Bob Poindexter of the Eloy Fire District says the fires follow the same pattern.
The latest fires broke out on Feb. 7 and April 2 in vacant homes in the city’s Toltec neighborhood.
They were the seventh and eighth arson fires in the subdivision since 2004.
The Casa Grande Dispatch reports that Poindexter has no direct evidence linking the fires. But he says the circumstances are so similar he’s pretty sure they are the work of the same arsonist.
