Anchorage police say a man has been charged with stealing two vehicles in the same night.
Police say an officer stopped 22-year-old Adam Cornelison just before 11:30 Wednesday because he was driving a pickup truck with the headlights off. Cornelison was cited for driving on a revoked license and driving without proof of insurance and released.
The pickup was impounded and police learned later it was stolen.
They caught up with Cornelison later in the night. Police say he consumed alcohol, stole a sport utility vehicle, forced a pickup into a light pole and then hit one himself. The stolen SUV rolled several time and came to rest on its roof.
Cornelison was charged with two counts of vehicle theft and driving under the influence of alcohol.
