An elderly San Diego couple is recovering after they were run over by their own car.
Police say the 69-year-old husband accidentally backed his 1999 Toyota Corolla over his wife Thursday.
The man got out to check on his wife, who also is 69, but police say he forgot to set the brake and the vehicle backed over him as well.
The woman suffered a broken arm and an elbow injury, while the man had abdominal bruising and a foot injury.
They managed to get into the car and drive to a hospital and were taken to a trauma center. Police say their injuries are not life-threatening.
