The Denver Fire Department is trying to find who set an arson investigator’s van on fire while he was looking into who had set fire to two other cars.
Denver Fire spokesman Phil Champagne says firefighters found two cars ablaze in an alley in southwest Denver around 12:30 a.m. on Mar. 2. He says the investigator was at a home interviewing witnesses when someone ran inside and told him his van was on fire.
No one was hurt, but the van was a total loss. Champagne says none of the equipment in the back of the van was damaged.
There were no immediate arrests in the case.
Champagne says investigators normally work in pairs, but the investigator was working alone due to budget constraints.
