Prosecutors have charged a Casper, Wyo., man with arson and say he set fire to his own home in an attempt to collect insurance money.
In an affidavit filed in the court case, police say 36-year-old Thomas Howard Devine twice used a flammable liquid to set fire to the second floor of his home in January. He is charged with two counts of first-degree arson and two counts of second-degree arson. If convicted, he faces up to 60 years in prison.
Police say Devine had not been living in the home because of damage from a previous fire in 2008. They say that fire was caused by the improper installation of a wood stove.
