Police arrested a Newberg, Ore., couple accused of theft.
The charges stem from when 28-year-old William Gray and 32-year-old Amber Beck lived in McMinnville. Police there say the couple reported a burglary Nov. 9, telling officers that $16,000 worth of property had been stolen.
Investigators, however, learned the couple told their insurance company that more than twice that much had taken.
Police served a search warrant at the couple’s Newberg home last week and discovered items that had been reported as stolen, including jewelry, clothing, televisions, sound systems and game systems.
McMinnville police said Wednesday that Gray and Beck have been lodged at the Yamhill County Jail.
