Top Cat, you’re very insensitive. Pets are better than most people and deserve more to live. By the way, euthansia runs around $150. Cremation runs from $250 to $500 depending on the animal.

    My 2 Cents,
Dah! Take Mr. Whiskers or Rover to the city pound or if you live near the border take them to Mexico or Canada where they have Hillary Care for pets. You can get the job done for a lot less than you are quoting. And on a serious note when you adopt a replacement pet get the damned thing neutered or spayed!

Another brainstorm from the idiots at Farmers Insurance Poop…uh Group. Rip off a Progressive insurance idea and maybe people will buy more from F.I.G.? They actually had meetings with top level managers to brainstorm this one. Keep up the great work. You people at F.I.G. are my best salesman……you big dummies

$600 should be enough to take care of normal veterinary care to take care of most injuries a dog would sustain in a car crash, or if necessary, euthanasia. It’s about what it would cost to take care of a broken leg for a dog or cat in my area.

Top Cat, I believe you’ll find your comments are offensive to most people who actually care about their pets. Euthanasia, if necessary, is not about “getting the job done.” It’s the last favor you ever get to do for your pet, ending its life with dignity so it doesn’t have to suffer.

Sorry but some of us are sick of seeing people treating dogs, cats, and monkeys as their children. All 3 of these so called pets are raised as ordinary farm animals for consumption by humans in other parts of the world.
If you really want to do something PC and that helps the world you should follow the foot steps of Madonna. Go to Africa and adopt a starving African baby. These are humans crying out literally for help. Quit spending so much money playing dress up with your monkey, cat, or dog. Adopt a child and save the planet. Pets help cause global warming. Earth is in the balance! Save Mother Earth!

Sorry for the kids in Africa, but I don’t have Madonna’s money. I can’t afford a trip over there, let alone the costs involved to adopt a child.

So I’ll do what I can in my own back yard, thankyouverymuch, such as helping with our local food drives and volunteering my time for needy kids right here in my neighborhood.

There’s absolutely nothing wrong with spending money on pets. Our two family pets do quite a bit to enrich the life of our child. He enjoys playing with them and learns a lot about responsibility by helping to take care of them.

Adopting a child is a noble thing to do, but I think it’s strange to say people shouldn’t spend money on pets because children in Africa need help.

What kind of term is “jungle bunny”? It sounds like an archaic racial slur of some sort.

Someone used another old-school racial slur on another IJ article this week. Then there are several expressions of homophobia on yet another article.

What’s up with that? It’s 2008. As a society have we not come any farther than this?

My family has been in the business over 55 years and to my knowledge never has their ever been a pet injured. If the other party is at fault then their liability would pay, so the only time your policy would pay is if you were at fault. WOW! now they join the ranks of Progressive, should sell a lot policies. Joe with so many agents bailing where do you get the numbers that Farmer’s market share is growing?
