Kathy, just a note in case you didn’t know, all caps means you’re yelling when posting on a board – and I don’t see a need to yell.

I’m not in the insurance industry (just need to keep up with trends as a consumer) and I don’t like this bill. Insureds already have the right to choose their own shop. And insurers with bad motives will always be able to steer their customers. I don’t like the bill simply because it restricts the consumer’s ability to obtain information from sources of their choosing. That makes it a bad bill.

HOW COME NO ONE IS COMMENTING ON BILL’S COMMENTS? HE IS A SHOP OWNER SO I THINK HE MUST SEE THIS HAPPEN ALL THE TIME. AND I WONDER WHY THE DOI DOES NOTHING TO STOP THIS? ANYONE KNOW?

Sorry – I did not know all caps meant yelling. I have never posted to a board before. No wonder everyone is being nasty. Anyway thanks for the heads up.

It’s not just in posts that capitals are considered yelling. As for Bill’s post, he just described a typical government response, of which you are a part!

Personally, I enjoy being an adult and making my own decisions about things. This includes being able to decide where to take my car for repairs. I also enjoy being able to talk to people in my community and hear feedback on their repair experiences. “Word of mouth” is the best compliment for a business and peace of mind for the consumer. I do trust my insurance company, yet I don’t need them making decisions for me. Suggestions are fine, but the final decision should be mine.

I am confused by the comments stating that “Kathy Brown” should be happy and satisfied with the level of completion that her provider carried out upon her repair “ORDEAL”. Sure it may have been “fixed” in the end. But why should ANYONE have to endure that much drama just to have something done RIGHT? I am SURE that the insurance company was NOT the one making all the phone calls that it probably took to get things ironed out. It was most likely Kathy…right? So if Kathy had endured all this on her own with her first choice granted, she would have had no one to blame but herself. Instead, she was “steered” and made to waste her time just to get things “right”. The insurance companies can’t think this is good business. Just because you made it right in the end, finally, at a huge cost to yourself, doesn’t get Kathy her time back. Did they pay her an “inconvenience fee” for her troubles? Probably not. I believe the repairs should be done RIGHT with the PROPER parts for my car. I did not know this happened! You can be sure I will be on top of it the next time I need repairs! Thanks Kathy!!!!!

Johnny…sounds like you have some issues and I don’t think posting on this blog is going to help you. Maybe Valium?
I was reading through this because it is very interesting to me and in reading the people who are name calling baffles me. Talking about someone’s family hating them? You have lost it buddy. Wasn’t this about insurance companies, auto body shops and repairs? And your here talking about bacon bits? WHOA!

Johnny… I think you have lost your bacon bits altogether..
An online forum is meant to create a healthy discussion and debate amongst adults in regards to the topic at hand. Reading your last few sentences, I am completely confused as to your point. You provided nothing of substance to add to the discussion.
I must say, I think you may have a few less bacon bits than the average person. Smarten up, buddy!
